The purpose of Planned Giving is to provide a significant opportunity for plan participants to increase their income, decrease their taxes, secure their heirs and leave a legacy.

Historically, planned giving has been a valuable tool utilized by the wealthiest two percent of American families. However recent innovations have provided the opportunity for virtually anyone to participate and receive the powerful income and tax management benefits.

Donations to Youth Dynamics, Inc. Foundation, a non profit 501(c)3 organization, are tax deductible and may be sent to Youth Dynamics, Inc. Foundation, 2334 Lewis Ave., Billings, Montana 59102.

Every Child Deserves a Family Gift Opportunities

In Montana, research shows that one in 10 children suffer from mental illness severe enough to cause some level of impairment, but fewer than 20% of these children receive needed treatment. The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services estimates that nearly 8,500 low-income children meet the Serious Emotional Disturbance criteria. These are At Risk children!

YDI relies heavily on reimbursements from public funding sources to operate its programs, thus financially limiting its ability to meet growing statewide demand for services. Financial support of the Youth Dynamics, Inc. Foundation will help ensure that the YDI programs continue and expand as the needs arise.

Current Gifting Opportunity Descriptions

Youth Crisis Facility
The Gallatin Valley is experiencing rapid population growth with a documented need for a therapeutic mental health facility serving both girls and boys who are in crisis. Annually, it is estimated that in Gallatin County there are approximately 200 youth between the ages of 11 and 18 who are in crisis situation, and who need therapeutic mental health care and shelter. The facility will be constructed in Bozeman and will accommodate therapeutic mental health services and programming for both long-term and short-term stays of its residents. Funds will be used to purchase land, pay for architectural and engineering services, and construct a multi-bed facility. The facility will also house YDI clinical services now being provided to the area.

Scholarships
Often, families do not qualify for publicly funded programs that help pay for community based mental health therapeutic services such as Medicaid, nor can they afford health insurance. Others may have health insurance, but benefits do no cover mental health treatment. Scholarships funds will make it possible for youth and families who do not have sufficient financial resources to receive behavioral health treatment.

Community Based Addictions Treatment
Montana ranks among the highest states nationally as to the percentage of youth ages 12 to 17 who abuse or are addicted to any illicit substance. Additionally, Montana ranks among the highest states in the nation for youth between 12 and 17 needing access to, but not receiving addiction treatment services. Most treatment programs today are primarily geared toward adults, and have proven to be ineffective in treating youth. Research shows that the primary reason people do not respond well to addiction treatment is an underlying mental illness. And the reason people do not respond to mental health treatment is because of underlying substance abuse issues. It is a double-edged sword! Designed exclusively for youth, our treatment model is cutting edge addressing both the addiction and mental health needs. Using the YDI family-focused model proven to be highly successful in treating emotionally disturbed youth, treatment will be provided in a structured environment with a focus on their community and family. (Stage I in 2008).

Endowment
Not unlike many private non-profit corporations, an endowment is being established as part of this gifting opportunity. Funds received will be invested, and the income from the investment will be used to help meet ongoing expenses related to operating the corporation. Income will also be used to assist in meeting small capital expenditures, and to fund special projects and programs.

Annual Fund
The annual fund will give the YDI Foundation Board of Directors a source of funding to pay for special needs that may arise during year that have not been allocated in the budget. Those funds could be utilized for researching new programs and sustaining the Foundations growth.

Future Gifting Opportunity Descriptions

These gifting opportunities will need funding in the near future. If you have an interest in helping the YDI Foundation fund these components please contact the Foundation office.

Information Technology
Information technology is highly advanced and sophisticated. Because YDI services are spread out across vast regions of Montana, information technology will improve communication between our clinical staff working in the field, between clinical staff and treatment parents, and with the clients we serve. Technology will also be used to enhance essential record keeping, training and services. Funds will be used to upgrade existing technology, purchase computers, web-based video cameras, digital projectors, and software.

Workforce Development
Because YDI services are provided in a home-based setting, often in rural areas of Montana, it is increasingly difficult to hire individuals with all the necessary skills needed to provide essential services to clients. This initiative will fund the development and implementation of an exportable clinical training program, thus allowing individuals to be hired from local areas and trained appropriately that will enhance not only the delivery of services but also will result in excellent career opportunities to individuals who otherwise would not be qualified. Additionally, this initiative will make it possible for existing staff and newly hired individuals to quickly receive the most current sate-of-the-art training they need to do their jobs even more efficiently and effectively.

Marketing and Public Relations
Even though YDI has been providing programs and services since 1981 it is one of the best kept secrets in Montana. We are launching a marketing campaign that will raise the awareness of YDI for several important reasons. Number one it will help increase the referral sources needed to make our services available to more kids in need. Number two it will help with recruiting of staff for the clinical offices and group homes. Number three more public awareness helps the YDI Foundation reach more people who can provide much needed financial support to maintain and expand services in the future.

Commitment
Commitment encompasses what this gifting opportunity is all about. We realize that we have undertaken a significant responsibility to provide services to even more Montana families and children who are in desperate need. But, our commitment is that Every Child Deserves A Family, and we are confident that we can provide the leadership required to forge partnerships that will result in providing access to as many therapeutic mental health services as possible to as many people as possible.

Together we will make a difference, positively impacting thousands of lives for decades to come. It is an opportunity to make a difference worth investing in - a brighter future for our friends, co-workers, families, and neighbors. It all depends on our collective philanthropic efforts to raise the money from individuals, corporations, foundations and others.

Investing our collective time, talents, and resources will ripple throughout Montana helping to rebuild torn and shattered lives. This is a bold campaign. But by partnering together, this campaign will directly benefit every citizen of Montana.

This is a gifting opportunity of hope - hope for many Montana children and families that tomorrow will be better than today; hope for blue skies, bright blessed days, and happy friends.

Thank you for viewing our website. We are interested in knowing what you think of our plan to leave an indelible impact on future generations because of what we collectively are able to do together to improve the lives of thousands of Montana children and their families.
